What is Ladder?
In a ladder competition, everyone appears on a single ranking. You can challenge players above you to a match. Win and you swap positions. Lose and you stay where you are. Perfect for clubs that want to stay active the whole season.
- 1Starting rankingEvery registered player or team gets a starting position, based on rating or a draw.
- 2ChallengeYou can challenge players ranked 1 to 3 places above you to a match. Challenges go through the app or website.
- 3Play the matchYou arrange the date, time and location yourselves. Afterwards you enter the result in Slams.
- 4Update the rankingBeat someone in a higher position? Then you swap places. Lose? Then you stay put. The challenger can never drop down.
- 5Final standings at the end of the seasonWhen the season ends, everyone lands on their final position. Number 1 is the champion.

The default is 1 to 3 positions above you. As the organiser, you can set in Slams how many positions a challenge is allowed to bridge.
You can set a response deadline. If someone doesn't respond within, say, 7 days, the match is automatically awarded to the challenger as a walkover.
