You set the entry fee per part. So each part of an event has its own amount, which lets you price a group tournament and a ladder within the same event differently, for example. If you leave the amount blank or set it to 0, participation is free and no payment step appears during registration.
Where do you set it?
There are two moments to decide on the entry fee:
- When creating the event, in the wizard under the heading Entry fee.
- Afterwards, on the part's detail page via the Settings tab. There you will find the Entry fee block with the amount and the choice of per team or per person.
Both places write to the same field, so whatever you enter in the wizard, you can always adjust it later.
Per team or per person
Besides the amount, you choose what the entry fee applies to:
- Per team: one payment per pair or team.
- Per person: the amount applies per player, and each member pays separately.
This choice also determines the label the participant sees on the registration page, for example "per pair" or "per person".
Slams' service fee
On every paid registration, Slams charges a service fee of 7%, with a minimum of €1.00. For free parts you pay nothing. When creating the event, you choose who bears this fee:
- Participant pays: the fee is added on top of the entry fee. The participant sees the entry fee plus the service fee as the total, and you keep the full entry fee.
- I absorb it: the participant pays only the entry fee and the fee is deducted from your revenue.
The service fee is separate from your subscription and always applies. Read more about the plans in Plans and pricing.
Receiving payments
To collect a paid entry fee, your club must have a payment method connected. Without a connection, participants cannot pay for a paid part and will see a message that the club has not yet set up a payment method. So arrange this before you open up a paid event, see Connecting a payment method. You can find all payments received in the Finance overview.
Want to view or edit registrations later? You can do so via Managing registrations. If you work with multiple parts, also take a look at Event with multiple parts.
