What is Knockout?
The knockout format is the simplest and most exciting format of all: each round, the winner advances and the loser is eliminated. From 16 to 8 to 4 to 2 to a single champion. Clear, fast and intense.
- 1Set up the bracketSlams automatically generates a knockout bracket based on the number of registered teams. Seeding or random draw is configurable.
- 2First roundEvery team plays its first match. Losers are eliminated, winners move on.
- 3Successive roundsEach round halves the number of remaining teams. The bracket shows live who is still in the running.
- 4Semi-final and finalThe last four teams battle for a spot in the final. The losers of the semi-finals can optionally play a match for third place.
- 5ChampionThe team that wins every round is the champion. Simple, fair and hugely exciting.

Yes. You can seed teams manually so the strongest teams only meet in the final. Slams places the seeds automatically in the right position in the bracket.
Slams automatically adds "byes" so the bracket works out. Teams with a bye skip the first round and advance straight to the second round. The bracket then becomes symmetrical.
