What is World Cup?
The World Cup format brings the excitement of a real football tournament to the padel court. Participants are drawn into groups of four, play a round robin in the group stage, and the top finishers advance to the knockout round. It all builds towards a thrilling final.
- 1Drawn into groups of fourTeams are drawn into groups of four. A draw or seeding decides how the groups are made up.
- 2Group stage: round robinWithin each group, every team plays the other three. A win is worth 3 points, a draw 1, and a loss 0.
- 3Advancing to the knockoutsThe top two teams from each group go through. Slams generates the bracket automatically based on the final standings.
- 4Knockout roundRound of 16, quarter-final, semi-final: the exact schedule depends on the number of participants. Lose and you are out.
- 5Final and podiumThe two finalists battle for the title. The losing semi-finalists play a third-place match to decide the bronze.

Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions
At least 8 teams (2 groups of 4). For a classic tournament with a clean bracket, 16, 20 or 24 teams works best.
Slams adjusts the group sizes automatically. With 10 teams, for example, you could make 2 groups of 3 and 1 group of 4, or 2 groups of 5. You can always tweak the draw by hand.
